What's Happening in the Kitchen - March 2026

Welcome to this month's update from the Members' Kitchen. This page is here to help you orient yourself — what's new, what we're focusing on, and where you might want to begin. March continued to be a busy month. We again focused on recipe creation as well as more Wellness and Skills articles. We also continued to learn the inner workings of the website and the behind the scenes mechanics. No doubt there are (and will continue to be) a few gremlins in the system. If you spot something that doesn't seem right, or a link that is broken, please point it out and we will get it fixed. Some of the recipe cards experienced an issue where they weren't properly displaying the cook times, but we think that has been sorted out. Please bear with us! The second series in the Discovery Page content was released - Ikarian Longevity. The module explores the Ikarian way of eating—not as a diet to follow, but as a template for building meals that nourish, sustain, and protect your health for decades. You'll learn the core principles, the pantry staples, the cooking techniques, and the recipes that define this remarkable food culture. We also published several related recipes. This follows the first Module - The Three Sisters- in which we explore an ancient Indigenous agricultural system—pioneered by the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and shared by many North American tribes—where Corn, Beans, and Squash are grown together in a mutually beneficial "companion planting" arrangement. 🍽 New Recipes This Month We've added to both our public facing recipe page, with many more on our Members only site. Our goal is to share 5-10% of our recipes to people we hope will become Members, while keeping the remaining 90-95% for those who are helping us build our community. We've also expanded our menu to help better sort recipes. You can also use the filter option in the All Recipes section, or use a key word search. 🧠 Skill Focus: Building Comfort with Core Techniques Again, this month's skills content centers on foundational techniques that quietly improve everything you cook. Rather than learning something new each time, we're revisiting familiar methods and looking at how small adjustments change results. New skills articles include some guidance on kitchen equipment, as well as how to make your food taste better. 🌿 Wellness & Reflection Our wellness focus this month, and every month, is on how you can improve physical and emotional well being through better planning, organizing and by being present for those around you. This Month's Reflection In this section, we hope to summarize the thoughts that Members submit each month that we think would be of interest or help to the broader community. You're invited to reflect privately, jot down notes, or submit a response if you'd like to contribute to the ongoing conversation. Your views will always remain anonymous. There are prompts to submit your thoughts throughout the articles and recipes and you can always do so on the Submit a Reflection page found in the Members Kitchen menu under Members' Input. 🤝 Community Contributions We'd love to get more Recipes submitted directly by Members. This will help build the library for all. Again, these can be submitted through the link in the main Members Kitchen menu in the Members' Input section. We've also set up a Members' Comment page in case anyone wants to share a comment directly with the member community. ❤️ Giving Back As always, 5% of this month's membership subscriptions will be donated to organizations working to address food insecurity. Your membership directly supports both this community and broader access to nourishment and cooking resources.
