Members' Kitchen — May 2026 Update

Welcome to this month's update from the Members' Kitchen. This page is here to help you orient yourself — what's new, what we're focusing on, and where you might want to begin.

May has been a full and focused month. We added 19 new recipes to the Members' library, launched the fourth module in the Discovery Page series, continued building out the Skills and Wellness libraries, and released Week 5 of the Market Basket Series. As always, a few things are being quietly tuned behind the scenes — if you spot a broken link or something that doesn't look right, please let us know and we'll get it sorted.

🔍 Discovery Page: Module 4 — The Spice Apothecary

The fourth module in the Discovery Page content has been released — The Spice Apothecary. This module explores spices not just as flavour tools, but as functional ingredients with real culinary and nutritional significance. You'll find guidance on building a functional spice pantry, how to bloom spices correctly, how to make your own blends, and how to use spices effectively in meal prep — along with deep dives into specific ingredients like turmeric and cinnamon.

This follows our third module — Ancient Grains — which explored the history, nutrition, and culinary versatility of grains that have sustained cultures for thousands of years. And our second module — Ikarian Longevity — which explored the Ikarian way of eating as a template for meals that nourish and protect your health for decades. And our first module — The Three Sisters — which examined the ancient Indigenous companion planting system of Corn, Beans, and Squash.

This Month's Reflection

In this section, we hope to summarize the thoughts that Members submit each month that we think would be of interest or help to the broader community.

You're invited to reflect privately, jot down notes, or submit a response if you'd like to contribute to the ongoing conversation. Your views will always remain anonymous.

There are prompts to submit your thoughts throughout the articles and recipes, and you can always do so on the Submit a Reflection page found in the Members Kitchen menu under Members' Input.

📚 Market Basket Series: Week 5

We've released Week 5: French Bistro in the Market Basket Series — a week of meals built around the warmth, simplicity, and quiet elegance of French home cooking. A master shopping list is included. If you haven't started the series yet, it's a great way to build a repeatable weekly cooking rhythm.

🤝 Community Contributions

We'd love to receive more recipes submitted directly by Members — this helps build the library for everyone. Submissions can be made through the link in the main Members Kitchen menu under Members' Input. We've also kept the Members' Comment page open for anyone who wants to share something directly with the community.

❤️ Giving Back

As always, 5% of this month's membership subscriptions will be donated to organizations working to address food insecurity. Your membership directly supports both this community and broader access to nourishment and cooking resources.

Where to Start (If You're New or Short on Time)

If this is your first visit — or if life is full right now — here are three easy entry points:

  • choose one new recipe to cook this month — the no-churn sorbets are a great low-effort starting point
  • read the skill or wellness article that feels most relevant to where you are right now
  • spend a few minutes with the reflection prompt, without trying to "solve" anything

That's enough.

Looking Ahead

Next month we'll continue expanding the recipe base and building out the Discovery modules. We're also continuing to refine the behind-the-scenes experience — navigation, filtering, and content organisation — so that finding what you need becomes easier over time.
